Shire City Sanctuary, in the former Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield, MA houses artisan studio space, a collaborative screen-printing shop, a commercial kitchen (in the works), event space, a gallery called BINGO! and a Cut Flower CSA called Hallelujah!. There are six living units in the renovated rectory next door. The property is owned and being developed by Crispina ffrench and her husband Chris Swindlehurst.
Our first annual Earthday Shindy* will be held April 19-21. The event kicks off Friday night with a Fact Slam from 5-8pm featuring five minute presentations/performances selected from our roster of 40+ earth oriented vendors.
On Saturday and Sunday 10-5pm join us for all manner of environmentalisms – from local farm products, crafty upcyclers, and green building professionals, to plant material, gardening tools, books, and energy conservation assistance; something for everyone to learn and take home. Live music, food, and performance all weekend long.
